How to Make Your Own Garlic Bread

If you have no store bought garlic bread but have bread, garlic and butter, then you do indeed have yourself some garlic bread. Thats how this recipe came about. We didn't have any garlic bread but I had all the ingredients needed to make it myself. I usually have a loaf of french bread in the freezer and I ALWAYS have garlic, so I figured I'd give it a try. It turned out great and has become a side dish I make often. I prefer it on the grill but the oven does give it a nice crisp. Feel free to get creative with the seasonings you use. You can interchangeably use parsley, basil or Italian seasoning, they all do pretty much the same thing.

How to Make Your Own Garlic Bread

1 loaf Italian or French Bread
1/2 - 1 stick salted butter (depending on the size of the bread)
1 tsp. minced garlic with juice (I use the canned minced garlic)
Sprinkle of Italian seasoning and salt

Slice bread lengthwise

Combine butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt

Melt all together in a microwave

Pour butter garlic mix generously over the bread and use a brush or butter knife to spread evenly

Bake in a 450F oven for 10-20 minutes or until bread is brown and crispy
Or grill direct for 10-15 minutes on butter side
